Learn + Burn Evening Longleaf Pine Workshop: May 31, 2018

Thursday, May 31st from 5:30-8:30 at Lighterwood Farm (535 Speight Rd, West End, NC, 27376). Open to private landowners. Cost is free to attend, thanks to grant funding from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.   This evening workshop will focus on growing season burns: burning with the additional spring and summer daylight gives us more opportunities to accomplish our management and can be highly effective for longleaf restoration (we will do a small demonstration burn if weather permits). Rescheduled Prairie Tree Planting: March 3, 2018

Please note: we rescheduled this event (originally 2/17) due to weather. Hope you can join us on 3/3!  Event Info Please join us as we plant gallon-sized fruit trees and shrubs on a Sandhills Area Land Trust property. The location is approximately 6 miles due north of Carthage (Moore County). We had a great work day last spring on this property, planting native grass seed. Now it’s time to add even more vegetation to the habitat for humans and animals!  Please bring work gloves, a bagged lunch, and sunscreen.
